Exhaust studs keep breaking...
Well this is the second time that I have had to replace the exhaust studs. The first time I thought the bolts were just old thats why they broke. About a month ago I put brand new oem studs in and just noticed two were broke yesterday. I have neukin ramhorn manifold and garret t3/gt40 turbo. I know there is a good amount of weight on the manifold. Would upgrading to arp studs help or do I need to make a brace for the manifold?

what are you torquing those bolts too. a bracket will help if it is too heavy, but over torqued bolts will always brake.

Re: Exhaust studs keep breaking... (blinx9900)
When I went to the honda dealer he said the B16a2 block uses 7 bolts and 2 studs. The 2 studs went on each corner on the top roll. I am not sure what the bolts were torqued to. I will have to get with my mechanic on Mon. I am going to order a arp studs and see if that doesnt fix my problem. I think I will have him fab up a brace because I think it might be a weight issue with the turbo.

its not a weight issue, i brake them with just a header, most guys with this problem convert to arp studs and the problem is solved. good luck.
