Default Engine trouble. (Turbo setup)

I bought my 98 GS couple weeks ago with blown head gasket. Car all ready had turbo in it, and was already tuned. When I took the head off, I saw that head gasket was blown and that number "2" piston was damaged, block is ok (lucky for me). I decided to swap pistons and rods, but I don’t know witch one to use. I am running out of money too. Engine on the car is a stock b18b1; the car was pushing 13 psi. That is kind a lot for it. Can some body let me know which pistons and rods will fit, and will they hold the boost. I was thinking maybe GSR or type R. Thank you in advance.

Will LS rods stand the boost? And are you shure LS rods will fit GSR and type R pistons? Is this all I need?

you said there is damage to piston 2, define damage.
did it score or scratch the cylinder walls? i'm not sure how a piston could get damaged due to a blown head gasket and not damage the block or something else...

anyways, yes you'll need ls rods. you might as well upgrade to arp rod bolts to help save the risk of another head ache later on down the line.

as far as pistons, you CAN use any b series pistons (except b20) but you're not going to want to. if you upgrade to higher comp. pistons (gsr/r/b16) you'll need to get it retuned somewhat. and you'll also most likely need to lower your boost to help cut down on the risk of detenation. do yourself a favor and get some stock ls pistons
hope this helped. good luck

Thanks MAN; this is what I am doing now. I got stock pistons, I think it’s the best choice, + I tried to resurface the block, but #2 still has some small scratches left. It’s not a big deal. And of course I will try to lower the boost.

Also witch way do you unscrew the crank pulley bolt? And how do you hold the crank in place? Witch way should I put the distributor back on, I will be adjusting my timing? There is the line on one side of it? It’s the part that connects to the cams.

Wish me luck this is my first time.

You need to buy a manual, and study it. Sounds like you have a lot of learning to do. I wouldn't trust a motor built by someone who doesn't know how to loosen a crank pulley. Get some help or don't buy blown motors that you have to rebuild yourself.

ya i'll second that.

but fyi man, you'll need a special crank pully tool to get it off. i'll try to find one for you so you have some idea what i'm talking about
