Default Engine Management @ 6 psi

A local guy is selling his JRSC for 1250. Im thinking of getting it, but I need to know what engine management I should run for reliability and afordability.

I did a search and only found options for higer boost.

TIA

IMO, it's not worth spending the money for a Hondata or another stand-alone type of management.

I'd get an Apexi-VAFC, get a few hours on the dyno, and be done.

What would be needed w/ the VAFC? Any other mods. If I buy the thing I plan on leaving it at stock boost for quite a long time.

I think if you half step, it will catch you in the long run.

Yeah, I've already learned this many times buying cheap used parts. Thanks for the input guys.

BTW How much does the base stage Hondata with boost run?

hey white lighting im in atl too. u must be talkin about jeremys charger for sale. he has the hondata for sale from hsi charger that is tuned for it for like 375 i would get it if possible. but if not then get the vafc. i am running the VAFC hack on my b18c1 in my 95 hatch with t3/t4 E setup at 4-5 psi and it works great. no problem no hesitation and no leaning out. pulls nice all the way to 8000 rpms. but if u can fork out the extra cahs get his hondata i was going to but i got a vafc for 150 bux thats why i didnt.

It all comes down to a money issue. Im in school and on a budget.

Time for some creative accounting to fool the parents and girlfriend.

You guys think I could get out of the deal w/ tuning and hondata, fuel pump etc for less than 2000?

well balanced performance is having a special right now 900 bux for hondata s200 with boost option and tuning. not a bad deal. but along with the charger for 1250 then thats a little over 2000. i say get the hondata from the saem guy whos selling you the charger he has it for like 375 already tuned for the charger on a b18c1

i'd say hondata, you car is already obd1, so you can re-chip ecu for $50.. buy used hondata, i'd recommend the new s200.. but older stages will do if you want to save money. then high pressure intank fuel pump and larger injectors, and f.p.r. wouldn't hurt. half the price of what your fi parts, but a good investement.

go hondata, when you get used to the jrsc@6psi then you can use the hondata nitrous controls to give you that "new car feeling" again

Does this boost editor really work? Does it perform like a stock production boosted car? Usually when things are too good to be true they usually aren't.

I've got the basics of how this work, but is there a place I can get hard info? An FAQ perhaps?
