Default tuning with hondata

Hi i'm looking into low boost, probably start off fairly low like 6psi. We'll i've done a lot of research at the different options of fuel management and i might have narrowed it down to two...the afc hack or hondata
I saw on the hondata website that there is a tuner in minneapolis, MN which isn't too far off, maybe 2 hours or somethin. So ok, i get the hondata (s200 with boost?) and then take it to the tuner and then what? he runs it on the dyno and programs it for whatever psi i want? How many times did it take all of you to get it done right?

Also about how much is the tuning process from a shop?
Hondata sounds really nice becuase from what i hear its not too far off the price of the afc and then you get really good drivablity with the good tuning.
I'm just stuck on how much more tuning will be and if its worth it for my low amount of boost

thanks in adv.

P.S. does anyone know what ecu a 91 crx si has? will i have to convert?

different tuners take different amount of time, some can completely tune a car in an hour or two other applications could take 8+ it all depends. In my opinion it is the best engine managment for the money.

basically, most dyno shops will only tune WOT on the dyno, if you're really picky about your tune like me, you'll need some street tuning (to tune partial throttle).

you start off w/ a basemap, and you will make changes from there, some times I make a few changes, sometimes i'll make a ton, it depends on the car. but proper street tuning involves a portable wideband unit.

pricing is really hard to say, depends on how much tuning you'll do, and how long you'll be on the dyno.

Hondata is worth it trust me, figure out all pricing, and save up, dont half *** your fuel management, as it is the most important part of your setup

yea, if you plan on runnin larger injectors you may wanna find someone that does narrow throttle as well for gas mileage and overall driveability, but some don't do it so keep that in mind.

So say he got hondata tuned at WOT on the dyno, how would it drive at partial throttle? Does it run really rich? Is it smooth? etc...

depends, with stock injectors it will run rich, but not overly so. Larger injectors will create some less then smooth driving operation at partial throttle.

depends on the map, most experienced tuners can get a partial throttle map very driveable w/ decent gas mileage without putting on a wideband.
