Engine build up

Well I have decided to finally build up my bottom end. I was gonna just do GE sleeves with CP pistons and eagle rods.
My tuner says I should go with RS sleeves and honing. Which I hear is also good and he can get that done with hone for 800 bucks.
My main question is, he wants me to allow him to install my pistons and rods. He said it will be about 500 bucks for him to install them. B/c he is going to blueprint and everything. Is blueprinting really worth $500? I will have the crank polished and the pistons/rods/crank balanced.

Blueprinting is the process of measuring every clearance and weighing the complete rotating assembly to eliminate unwanted vibrations, weight, and clearances...This allows your engine to "sing" like Jessica Simpson and not like William Hung...
This takes time and patience and the person blueprinting the engine should have all the specs documented and make adjustments to perfect the balance of the parts...
You need to make sure that the engine builder will take the time to balance the engine as well as blueprint it...Ask for them to record the specs for you to view...This will make sure that you have not wasted your money on some salesman instead of a engineer...

you definately want to know if your motor is in spec before you put it together
the only thing is you have to trust the person doing the blueprinting... all he's doing is double checking the machinists work (in your case GE)
