How much to drop in pistons and rods?

Default How much to drop in pistons and rods?

I wanted to drop in some je pistons stock bore and some eagle rods. I was wondering about how much would it be to drop them in there? that would be with the engine still in the car. Ohh and des any one know a shop that would do it for me hese in souther california for cheap

I think what you're asking is tricky to do correctly. It'll be worlds easier to remove the engine and then do the work. You could hone the cylinders while the crank is still in the block, but you must make sure NOTHING gets on the journals. Else you crank will be worthless. I know this doesn't answer your question, but get a helms and do it yourself (if you have the time). The learning will be priceless and it's not difficult to do.

No i meant to take out the engine not to do the job witht the engine in the car

I think SRP pistons and Eagle rods will cost you less than $1,000 for the set... it's the rings, bearings, bolts and gaskets that will add up to another $1,500 or so... plus new valves and springs if you choose to replace them. All I can say is, whatever you choose it will pay off BIG TIME to go to a pro engine builder. You can assemble a Honda motor at home no problem, but what you end up with is an ordinary motor. Go to a pro, a place with a good rep to get all their "secrets" that will make your motor shine.
