Default Emanage/ Turbo question

This is probably a lame question, but I need to ask this. Im gonna be putting in my turbo kit soon and I have an Emanage. Once I get the turbo kit on, is it ok to to drive the car to the tuning shop untuned? If not, do I need to get it towed or something? Also, are there any basemaps that I could use to make sure my car doesnt die while im going to get it tuned? Thanks. Let me know if my question is unclear. Thanks guys.

Take off a charge pipe - and you'll be fine. Don't want that boost going into the engine.

by taking off a charge pipe, you run the risk of overspinning the turbo. you should be alright driving to the shop with emanage, as it should make your car run rich. just to be safe, don't drive too crazy and try to stay out of boost.

the only thing is, I dont have the support tool so I cant do anything to the emanage I bought it off some guy so I dont even know what the settings are on it....unless the memory is erased if it isnt plugged in for a long time.

If you aren't using an emanage from a GReddy kit then it most likely does not have a base map for boost installed. Therefore you should not install it and expect that you can boost without damaging your engine.

My advice would be to disconnect a charge pipe and drive carefully so that you don't spool the turbo. If you start out slowly from a stop you should be ok. Drive it like you are running out of fuel and the next gas station is 15 miles away

You will not over spin the turbo as long as the oil lines are hooked up. I've had plenty of other people drive to the dyno, unhooked. Remember, the wastegate is not even seeing positive pressure. you can't go into any faster than outside of vaccum.

It's fine..
