Default EGT Gauge (searched)

ok well i got an EGT gauge off a kid on this board and i installed it the way he told me. BTW its a Greddy 52mm EGT gauge. but when i started the car up and the car was fully warm the needle did not move fromt he 400 degree celcius line.(thats as low as it goes) in the middle of the gauge theres a "check" light and it was orange/yellow (i cant remember) do any of you know what color it should be? cause as soon as i unpluged a wire it went red so maybe it goes green? or can any one tell me which wires go where? i have the red wire ran to the power source my turbo timer use to use, the white going to my parking lights, the black going to a ground, the yellow and orange are going to the probe. does this sound right to you? please help me. TY

You should have two separate harnesses. The wires from the power & light harness don't cross over to the probe harness.

That orange wire on the power harness goes to IGN 12V+. It gets 12VDC+ with the key in the IG2 position.

The red wire goes to constant 12VDC+ power aka the battery. You can tie it to the ignition wire if you want as long as you're not running multiple gauges/appliances on it and overloading the circuit.

Did you go for a drive? My greddy gauge is not the same but it will not budge at idle starts its reading at 300celcius. If I hold say 3000 rpm for awhile it will move.

no i didnt go for a ride ill try that. BTW my gauge doesnt have the 2 harnesses like ive been reading. it only has 5 wires coming out of the back. or maybe it does have harnesses but the wires are taped together so it doesnt look like it. maybe i have an older gauge?
