Default Dynoed my stock b18b w/ edelbrock manifold and drag kit

Well just got back from the dyno this evening. I was expecting around the mid 240whp but hey, **** happens. My car has always been slow with all the motors ive had so im use to it lol. Made 195whp/(dont remember tq) on 7 PSI and 218whp/184tq on 10 PSI Here's my set up

2001 Stock B18B w/ 39,000 miles (FYI: picked up from junkyard for $800 CLEAN CLEAN motor when pulled)
Drag Kit with t3/t4e
Turbosmart 38mm wastegate.
2.5" Drag downpipe
550cc RCs
Walbro 255
GReddy Profec B
Apex'i Worldsport Catback
ACT HDSS
Edelbrock Victor X Intake Manifold (got it dirt cheap from a friend thats why I put it on)
Chipped P28 on uberdata tuned by VTC_civic aka Dave the tuner.

I know the exhaust is robbing a lot of power but I want my ish quiet. Also, I dont think that intake mani is helping either. Oh well.

not bad numbers, but could be better

do you have a side view of your car...what kind of wheels are those?

I think he is trying to say the manifold is a POS on his car. With a stock motor and rev. limited around 7k, there is almost no point of having that manifold. Usually when people use this type of manifold, its built heads or blocks or even motors in general. With a stock LS intake manifold, Skunk2, etc. intake manifold he would probably done a little better, maybe around what he wanted...240s.

I mean look at his 7psi hp and his 10psi. thats only a 23hp diff., usually for ever psi that is tuned up on a honda, its another 10hp. His tq is decent, but i've seen a few dynos of LS motors and they have had better luck.

You really have no luck with cars. "better luck tomarrow" w/ the ricer cooker. your in denial, LS motors make more power then that...muahahaha.

that car is cleannnnnnnn.

Not bad numbers either. That's kinda close to the setup i'm working on. By working i mean thinking about.

You hit the nail on the head.

Like I told Lam, the setup is just not conducive to making lots of power. That 2.25" crooked piping and tiny muffler certainly don't help, but that manifold is definatley a weak spot in the mid range. It's only around 7k when the motor really starts to cook, unfortunatley it's also where the party ends

Like I said dude, swap out to a Skank2 or build that head for higher revs to take advantage of that manifold. Have fun!

nope, not gonna touch the setup unless i build a motor so its gonna stay as is (also because im broke now lol)

I agree on the 2.5 being a restriction for you, and also on the intake manifold robbing both power and torque from probably 90% of the rpm range.

Did you run a compression test?

I know that motor has more in it @ the same psi.

that manifold works best in higher rpm's and its pointless on a non-vtec head

2.5" exhaust isnt THAT much of a restriction.. ive seen some people switch from 2.5" and go to 3 inch and only saw less then 10 whp gains. 2.5 inch would become a big restriction i think once you start getting close to 300whp
