dyno today!!!!
I went to the dyno today to tune my 94 gs-r. i have a custom turbo setup and a hondata 4b. the results were a little dissapointing. while i am at 6000 ft. altitude here in alb NM i put down 240hp and 177 or so to the wheels on 10 psi, and 101 gas. was hoping for high 200's but i guess i wasnt being realistic. they gave me a corrected number of 298 hp and i dont remember the tq. i will try to post as soon as they email me the dyno runs. we tuned the a/f to 12:1 but right at vtec change (set at 5000) it would go rich to like 11:1. my egt's are 725 or so. also the car started to miss at 10-11 psi. the hondata reads like 8 psi so i know i am not hitting fuel cut but possibly blowing the spark out????? have stock ignition, #7 plugs gapped at 32. also the msd knock alert showed no knock even at 10 psi and the cooler being a little heat soaked. car felt strong at 5 psi but feels much better at 10 psi. only spent an hour on the dyno so after some fal fans, fuel pump, and a 3 bar map sensor. i am only pushing like 70 % duty cycle with the dsm 450's. sometimes i like high altitude until i see my hp numbers. time to start on another motor for big boost.
298 is not dissapointing but that is corrected. i like real numbers. i am happy overall. the hondata system is the ****. very easy to tune, except i still cannot get the emulator to work correctly so i had topull the chip every run to change the rom. it was a pain in the ***. just have to get the miss figured out. time for some datalogging.

go to houston and your car will be so friggen fast.. keep in mind, ALL the other cars where u live are making less power too, my car makes a 230whp corrected(no idea uncorrected) and i run about the same as a stock camaro, ur car should be able to beat ALOT of cars..

i have been beating just about everything i have raced. beat a 98 gsx from a roll pushing 18 psi, buschur 20g and FMIC, hes on our board http://www.nmautoscene.com, and he admits it. this i did on 5 psi. beat a late 90's gst on 15 psi and 16g tonight. numerout t/a's, mustangs etc...
got my *** handed to me by a 92 sentra se-r, built motor 14 psi and a 50 shot nos. knew i would lose to him but i tried (on 5 psi).
the ccar does not like 10 psi, it misses. probably blowing the spark out. at 9 psi it does fine.

when did stock camaros run 13.3's?
when did stock camaros run 13.3's?
stock LS1's run the 1/4 at 104-106mph, and with a pair of nittos, stock they have gone 12.90.. the average driver in a stock LS1 will usually run a 13.6 though..

I know what you are saying. Sometimes I start to miss at any boost level but mainly at 13psi. Everytime I drop gear. I know I am running terribly rich. I also run the same, stock ignition and #7 gapped at .32. I am thinking my spark is weak also. Anyone else have any ideas?

Oh yeah that's right, they got power upgrades over the years. I was thinking of back when they first came out they had 275 hp and the magazines had them running 13.9's. They have like 305 now right?
up here i have seem most camaros/trans ams run mid 14's (if my memory serves me right, they shut the track down).
Hows the car doin ben??? Nick said you guys had it running pretty good until you let AEM **** with the map.
I am putting together some plans to comoe after ALL the turbo hondas in town!!!!(well you and fris anyway LOL)

Had a jacobs. sent it back because it burned out 2 ignitors. Bought a msd coil, cap, and new rotor today. Have it pinpointed to the spark/ignition.
Thanks for the buy on the hondata.
still cant get the emulator to work. just sent back 2 programmers, 2 emulators to doug. i cannot get the emulator to hold a rom for more that 5 seconds. the check engine light will go out like normal and then without starting the car i just wait and the check engine light comes back on, and the interface box light goes out completely. any ideas.???? the programmer i have now works great and the car works fine off the chip, just cannot use the emulator to tune. real pain in the *** to burn rom after rom to the chip on the dyno @$80.00/hr. doug has not been able to figure this one out as of yet.
