DSM turbo on a D15B setup
I currently have a small stock talon/gsx turbo that originally came with stock coolant lines and oil lines that run with adapters to rubber hose to connect to the motor and coolant system im trying to get this setup on my d15b before i finish my b series and i was wondering should i get stainless steel lines and adapters to replace these original lines and how much boost does this thing make with its stock internal wastegate
has anyone every done a setup like this
any info is greatly appreciated
what i know of: its has tD04 written on its side

Re: DSM turbo on a D15B setup
what you are describing in your first post is very similar to the Greddy 15g kit which uses a dsm TD04H (has a slightly bigger compressor wheel than the TD04)
the point being that you will spend a considerable amount of time, effort, and probably $$$ on a very common setup.
it is also common to just use the oil lines and not the water lines on those kinds of turbos.

yea i see what u mean the only thing thats really gonna cost me though i think is my ecu s300 and the oil line cuz i just ripped the entire setup off a gsx and a talon with the best parts kept lol but any more info on like setups and recommendations would help cuz this turbo doesnt need to be big cuz the motor is only a 1.5 baby motor lol

No need to use the coolant lines.I had a 14b (1g dsm turbo) for 2 years with no coolant lines and ran fine and the turbo setup still running around so 4 years now. They are good turbos for small set up but the good old d15 wont hold for too long at 8-10psi.Good luck with the built.

Re: DSM turbo on a D15B setup
Nope, never had that problem with the stockers on diameter. The tube breaking down and leaking, now that's a different story. Those stock turbo's (14b and t-25's) go for over 100k no problem with the stock tube. At over 100k for that little turbo, I'm thinking that diameter is more than enough (I don't know the number off the top of my head) but its a whole lot more mileage than I'm going to get outta my BW366.
Now most of the guys I know upgrade to a bigger turbo. The reason we change out the stock tube, is because its great for leaving little puddles of oil all over the place

I loved my DSM, and I also hated it for these reasons alone.

Re: DSM turbo on a D15B setup
i mean i understand that so im gonna get some nice nos lines for it but i was just wondering about the coolant lines and ill probably hook them up just for better temps the most expensive part of this is just tuning wen im done i plan on putting the motor in a beater ef or eg so i can put my built b in my car and see how the dsm turbo does on that and if its good ill keep it lol reliablity with power is my goal

Re: DSM turbo on a D15B setup
Here is a crappy picture of the oil drain line on my D15 with an EVO8 turbo, it should be very similar to what you are looking for. I use Hondata S300 as well and my car ended up making 220HP at 12 psi; but how much power you make is ultimately going to depend on how experienced your tuner is.

Re: DSM turbo on a D15B setup
I was able to keep A/C, but the downpipe was kind of tricky. Still 3.0" though. I am also using a side mount intercooler. There are a couple different ways to plumb the side mount... you might even be able to use your DSM intercooler if you still have it.
I ended up using 1.75" tube from the turbo outlet to the intercooler. Using a larger diameter hot pipe into the intercooler would be a benefit to you on the top end, but it might be tricky to plumb it (frame rail, ground clearance, ect...).
