Default Drag 3 turbo's

I'm going turbo and I want to know if you have to mod any part of your car to install the Drag 3 turbo hit... I was looking at the install instruction on the Revhard setup and you have to trim certain portions of the block so that the compressor housing will clear the block, factory cooling fan will need to be cut due to the compressor side of the turbo, ect.. Feed back on how you like the kit and performance gain would be appreciated.. Thanks in advance...

You will have to do some trimming of the fan shroud, and engine webbing(although this may not be necessary on all engines).

Power gain on b16 with hondata and drag 3 on just 7psi was INSANE to me.

On my drag kit the the only thing that we had to shave was a little bit of the block for compressor housing. Did not have to cut fan. I like the kit alot have yet to take it to the track or dyno it.

I had to cut my fan apart, didnt have to trim the block luckily.

I made 247/174 @ 7PSI, stock GSR block with 111k and Hondata. Very happy.

yea, I have heard with a GSR block you don't have to cut any webbing, but with a b16 you certainly have to.

This will be going on a 99 civic si so I guess block trimming and fan will have to be modded.... that suks... Is there any turbo kit that you don't have to do that too??

It's worth it, trust me.
A little aluminum and plastic trimming for alot of horse is worth it.

I had to trim my GSR block for my compressor housing to fit.

Also ditched my OE fans for some slim ones.

For the DRAG 3 install on my B18b, i had to trim down the block, clip the fan blades, cut the fan housing to get the turbo to fit on the block right. i also had to cut down the supplied S-pipe (intake), so it wouldn't contact the fan motor assembly. I cut the no.1 intercooler pipe about 1-2 inches, so the no. 2 pipe wouldn't hang down from the car. There can be alot of fitment issues, but if you play with them enough, it'll all work out.

yea i had to trim my fan and get rid of AC fan for drag3 on 97 prelude but be ready to dish out more funds for tuning and hondata.

I take it you decided against the supercharger.

I had to trim the block webbing, and get a slim fan. I could have bent the clutch lines and moved the intake piping back a little but the slim fan was $150 and works fine. The oil return on the DRAG kits is hard to use, get a stainless oil return kit for $50 and save having to do it twice. Downpipe has no flange on it so it will have to be welded to your exhaust. It would also be wise to use a flexpipe so you won't put too much stress on the downpipe/turbo/manifold and cause cracks and the bolts coming loose.
