Down Pipe ????
I have 2 questions:
1: Has anyone used factory bolts from the downpipe to the cat.
I want to get a Spoolin Performace 2.5 downpipe and what i was thinking of
doiing cutting the end flange of a JDM ITR header, weld it onto the downpipe
and use it to connect to my 2.5 Carsound Cat using JDM ITR bolts with the
factory spring bolts. Has anyone done this?
2: There once was a guy who was making 2.5 downpipes for the Greddy B series
kit. Does anyone know his name or if he is still making them? This is for a
friend of mine.

Re: (APEX i GSR)
for you second question, is was KTeller that was making the 2.5inch dp's. there is a 3inch dp option for the GREddy kit which i use but its not A/C friendly... i can post picks if you are interested, as well as where to get the specific part i used

Re: (APEX i GSR)
The dp from KTeller is just a simple bolt on after the elbow.
Imo its kinda a waste. Now what i have is a V-band discharge which replaces that whole bullshit that the kit came with...

since nobody answered you first question I'll help you out. Yes, it is possible to do what you described. I've done exact the same thing for a local guy last week. I cut the flange off of his own header and weld it on the new 2.5dp, no flex pipe was needed since I reuse all factory bolts and spring.

Re: Down Pipe ???? (Lycanthrope)
Seems like you are just facking up the header when it could be sold, and in the mean time you can just weld a flange to the end of the downpipe then bolt it to the cat with cat springs. JMO...
Since i was there i will post a pic...
18G with stainless v-banded discharge....

I did this on my first turbo build, only because i didnt know anything else better to do. But you could SELL the jdm ITR header, and just use a $5 flange, and save the trouble of the stupid honda flange not to mention pocket some money.
I wouldnt cut up your nice header. Just get a nice 2.5" flex pipe and use 2.5" flanges on your cat and downpipe. It will work great! For the bling use vband connectors.

Re: (APEX i GSR)
no sir...
Honeslty its not worth it for me...i have had my car for like 3 years and only used the A/C 3-4 times if that...
As far as changing spool, i went from full boost with the 2in dp and 2.25in high flow cat-back at 35-3600 to full bost around 31-3200 with the 3in turbo back, as well as picking up a ton of top end.
