Default Do this sound right?????

Just intalled my turbo kit.
D-series peakboost kit 50 trim 60/48
Wastegate is a 8.75 spring

Don't know how much power I'm making havn't hit the dyno yet.

Now I was on the highway doing about 70 mph in forth and I floored it. Felt the boost come on hard at 5000 grand and it started pulling then when it got to about 6000 the rpms just went straight to the rev limiter. Almost felt like the tires broke loose but then Im like I'm in fourth and I'm probably not making enouhj power to break loose in fourth. Then I thought the clutch was slipping I tried the pull again this time with about 80-85% throttle and it pulled all the way to the red line.

Third gear does the same thing.

So could this be my clutch its a f1 stage three 6 puck. The clutch was installed when I put the kit on 4 days ago and was broken in. Grabs hard when driving otherwise

Or is it traction, it was about 34F degrees outside that night and I was running shitty all season tires with high tire preasure----getting changed shortly.

Im just concerned because I though I would definatley hook up in fourth and third.

I really hope its not the clutch.

Out of all the things that could go wrong during a turbo set up, the clutch going out would be something i would be crossing my fingers for

I just installed the clutch 5 days ago, it was instaled properley and broken in properley.

and it a 6 puck this should be able to hold the power I'm making I assuming i'm not making more than 220 whp.

It grabs damm good driving otherwise even grabs on hard shifts. It just the pulls were it seems to slip

Whats a for sure way to determine if this is the clutch without pullin the tranny??

boost in 5th gear no way tires would slip and 5th is the most load on motor and if it slips in 5th you know its the clutch

If your not breaking the tires loose in 4th than for sure it is your clutch.

And who makes f1 clutches?

Properly broken in after 5 days? It took 500 miles before my carbon ceramic clutch fully seated.

sometimes people dont install the clutch well. so a mechanic did it? cause even shops mess up and get grease or whatever on the clutch accidentally.

definitely sounds like a clutch though

No doubt. I was wondering how he could have driven that much in just a few days. I suppose it's possible, but I doubt it.

The clutch probably just isn't completely broken in yet, but who knows. If your RPMs are raising like that and you aren't spinning the tires, then the only thing it could be is the clutch.

I didn't break it in fior 500 miles because I read some post on here that said that puck clutches don't need to be broken in.
So I drove like a grandma for 5 days doing alot of city driving. Just to be safe.Figured I'd be ok after 5 days.

Anyways the problem is gone. I just took it easy after it slipped that time, and broke it in some more. Clutch holds very well now.

And I know I shouldn't be running 8psi on a base map but my a/f are perfect , car drives smother than stock in vacuum and boost. It's a phearable base map.
Still going to get it tuned very soon.
