do i really need RODS?
i got some SRP pistons and was wondering if i really need rods? or can i just stick with my stock ones...i have a huge budget going on, so please dont tell me to mind as well change the rods...my question is that will my engine be okay with only pistons and no rods...and oh yeah, i upgraded my valvetrain if that matters

sounds like your rods are going to be your weak point. if you want lots of power go with some eagles w/ upgraded bolts, or cryotreat and shotpeen the stock ones.

theres a few guys that have hit 12's on this board with stock LS motors. im sure you could do it without rods. BUT
if you are opening up the engine, replacing pistons or other things you might as well do it, because boost is addicting and opening an engine up equals either time(if you know how) or money(if you dont), but to me time=money. 350 extra for rods aint so bad.
if your motor already has some pistons and other mods and the motor is already installed and working, leave it alone.
do you REALLY need rods? no. do you really NEED anything over 50hp, probably not; but its fun smoking people so why the hell not.

I don't think it would be running at all...missing the rods and all. Kidding.
Sell your valvetrain crap and get some Eagle rods. Your goal can be achived without upgrading your valvetrain.
