Do I really need an LSD right away?
I'm puttin my turbo in very soon. I'm running out of funds. If I'm gonna put in a Quaife in my GSR I want to rebuild the tranny with new bearings and seals (another 850 bucks just in parts, not to mention the labor). I know I at least need a new clutch.
Is there a major performance loss if I don't put in an LSD? I know many people must be running turbos on stock open differential trannies?
Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated.
thanks!

LSD is a nice to have...unless you race on tracks ...LSD is the least necessary item....get it later...concentrate on getting your power right first..

LSD makes such a difference in getting traction. We put one on my buddy's 91 Eclipse GST that put down 440. He used to spin like crazy, now he can actually get that power down to the ground.
I have a brand new Quaiffe for a GSR in the box that I was gonna use but I have to sell due to me losing my job. If you're interested I can hook you up.
