Default do i need to retune when adding intercooler spray?

is it necessary to retune, or take out some timing, when spraying nitrous through the intercooler?
and does anyone use nitrous on there intercooler? can you feel a noticable difference? will i see any change in my trap speeds?

it will be leaner so youll have to add fuel, setup your temp corrections or have a differnt map

will it be worth it? will i actually see some hp gains? lets say i dyno at 260whp @10psi boost

how much whp will i see with a 80shot of IC spray?

Im sure you will notice quite a big gain, but like he said, if you are running something that large you will HAVE to get it retuned. When I first clicked on this I figured you were going to just have something to cool off the temps, that would not require a retune.

ive heard gains are pretty minimal with the spray say 10-15whp max, and yes you will need a retune

and yes it will be hard to tune for both driving with and without the spray you may need to setup some kinda dual map for when your sprayin and when you arent not sure

edit: wait are you talkin about sprayin ON the ic to cool the air or IN the ic? My above comments are for spraying ON the ic; in the ic- definitely would need a retune but it would give you oodles more power than sprayin on the IC

i had that spray and it def had to be re-tuned. The HP was amazing though. I know they say 50 hp gain and they might of been right but it could of been also been spraying into my intake on the turbo. That spray is equal to a 200 shot. I went through a 5lb bottle in 4-1/4 runs. Honda Tuning did an article with it and gained 62 to the wheels and they only sprayed before they dyno'd to got those numbers. I didnt dyno mine though

Here is my opinion on the effects of intercooler spraying, I could be completely 100% wrong but hopefully someone that knows more than me could chime in if I am wrong.

Intake Air Temperatures vary from day to day based on the ambient air temperatures and degree of heatsoak on the intercooler and charge pipes. Therefore, the effects of intercooler spraying on intake air temperatures would be inconsistent from day to day. If its a 110* day and you've been driving around in the city for 2 hours your IAT's would be sky high. Intercooler spraying may take your IAT's from 180* down to 120*. However, if it's a cold 50* night and you just started your car up your IAT's could be only 70* and the effect of intercooler spraying may only drop it down to 60*.

Seems to me like there is only one true way to have a good tune off of intercooler spraying, and that is to have the IAT correction table tuned in your software. If you had your car tuned on a 100* day and have been on the dyno for 20 pulls you can bet your IAT's are higher than normal. Then if you go on the street and start using intercooler spraying your IAT's will drop significantly and your engine will be running a bit leaner.

So moral of the story, monitor your IAT's. They do have an vast effect on AFR's.
