distributer issues
take the cap off the dis. and check for shaft play/ or oil in the dis. symptoms you might notice is the engine not reving all the way up (kind of like hitting a rev limiter)

Massive misfiring...noise in the cap.
If your rotor shaft is bad that can potentially lock up which causes the whole intake cam to lock up which results in timing belt slipping multiple teeth which often isnt a good thing...
ECU Cel codes are a common sign the sensors in the distributor are bad or wearing too. Helms has good testing flow charts to follow.
