Default dissapointed!

I just installed my apexi turbo kit, around 5.5-6 psi and im very dissapointed. I have a 99 civic EX. is there anything i can do besides turn up boost to become more satisfied??? im happy with the kit and the extra power, its just NOTHING at all like i expected, or like any other turbo car i have ever been in. oh well i guess, i just feel like i wasted 2 grand. help please!

P.S. my problem is that it feels very underpowered. like stock integras will still dust me, and that isn;t what i expected!

What fuel management? Check for leaks, charge pipes etc. All that jazz. Should be able to stick with a stock teg. Maybe you just need more power period! Get a standalone, AEM or do a OBD1 conversion and go Hondata, some bigger injectors, get it tuned and up the boost.

Riding in one is different then driving one. When your driving one..your more in control and get used to it but when your just riding in one your not in control. I'm sure your car is fast. What is the setup consisting?

Can we stop doing the "my daddy can beat up your daddy" stuff and help this dude??

I personally think its your fuel dude. Can you list your set up? It can be any number of factors including your exhaust setup too...

Hmm i guess a stock internal 12 sec sohc is a waste of money then. Hell i have a total of just under 6g into my car, including the price of the car. Im sure your car is fast, but you probably have 4X the money into your car then what i have into mine. Sohc turbo's can be fast and inexpensive if done right.

He needs to list his setup.

with spending only $2k on an apexi setup, , I'm gonna have to guess that you didn't get teh intercooler kit. I'm guessing your car feels like a stock integra LS? Get an intercooler kit and get tuned

I agree that the SOHC vs. DOHC needs to die. Let it rest please, thank you.

I would also recommend getting a FMIC... That will help your cause quite a bit... I raced an EX with the Apexi kit and beat him by about a car or so... He also didn't have the FMIC... At the time I beat him I was I/E... But also check the install for leaks, check valves, etc... Good luck with the set-up...

what exhaust are you running? What diameter is the piping? you definitely should get some larger injectors (310cc's are abundant for cheap used) and turn the boost up to 7-8lbs.

List your setup too

You sir are a tool.

6.5psi on a stockish sohc well tuned give you around 155whp a nice amount of torque that is easily enough to own a GSR teg I/H/E or beat a stock type Rargh

Get the car tuned get a intercooler and exhaust..

Type-ARR should try talking TurbodCX, 12.91seconds@110MPH on 15PSI of boost. Dynoed at 343WHPand285TQ @ 19PSI, all on a SOHC.
