Default Disable Knock sensor

ok guys i am working with a OBD 1 94 P72 GSR ECU.

I have searched until my fingers fell off.!!

I need to know a way to get around the knock sensor, i am working with a 1.8L LS bottem end with a 1.8L type R head. and i want to get rid of this damn knock sensor code.

I have tried grounding the pin D3, i have also tried grounding it with a 1K ohm resistor, and with a 10k ohm resistor, but it does not get rid of the CEL.

If any of you have been successful at getting rid of this code please let me know how you did it.

Thanks
Brian

is your ecu socketed? if so its VERY easy to disable in the rom if you have rom burning ability. if not i could always send you a ROM for the price of the ROM itself... we're talking 2 bucks. (i dont charge for the roms since they were developed in free spirit in the PGMFI project). OTHERWISE ya.. you're looking at annoying CEL's. I tried in my friends preludes many different values of resistors and never got past it.. i did manage to delay it. Doing it via the ROM is just the best way. If your ECU is NOT socketed, its pretty easy to do!

for those who may be ROM burning savvy:

An otherwise stock P72, sans knock sensor & checksum

I try to keep people away from the Skunk & Mugen ROM's. Only because they're basically racing ROM's and have MANY sensors disabled. This can make it hard to determine why a car is doing something if it wont pop a CEL!
