DIFFERENCES between .63 a/r and .48 a/r housing?? (posted pics appreciated)
I just got my new turbo in the mail today and i noticed that the turbine housing which is stamped .63 a/r looks very very similiar to my old .48 a/r housing.. the exhaust discharge openings are practically the same size.. ..WHAT THE Heck??? is this supposed to be the case??? don't the .63 housings have larger discharge openings than the .48 housings??
Not only that, the new turbine wheel looks very very similiar to the turbine wheel used on my old .48 a/r housing... ONly difference is that the new one looks like its been clipped..
I think I've been jipped by the dam builder... we had talked about I wanted and he promised he would deliver according to my specs that i gave him.. Which consisted of of a .63 a/r housing, stage 3 wheel, and 60 trim compressor... From the looks of the markings on the parts of the turbo, the only thing that I think I might have gotten was the housing, since it had been stamped .63 a/r.. the rest of the other components didnt even have anything to help me identify it with..
And to add insult to injury, the basturd charged me $15 shipping on my order when he originallly quoted me shipped prices.. I even attempted to call them back to clear things up and i gave them my number to call me back, but the asses never returned my call.. fulkn basturds!! oh well, sorry for being so angry...
So i guess my question is, Do the .63 ar housings come in all different shapes and sizes, as pertaining to the specific exhaust discharge opening?? I'd like to know because I"m confused..
thanks

The .63 and .48 are different only in size. While the 63 and .48 look to be similar in size, but one next the other and you can see the difference. The discharge is going to be 2.5" on either of the housings, along with the .82 housing.
The turbine wheels dont vary in size, they vary in the numbers of blades and the angles of the blades. You most likely do have a stage 3 blade.

Re: DIFFERENCES between .63 a/r and .48 a/r housing?? (boosted hybrid)
So would you or anyone have a pic of a stage 3 wheel for reference?? because it does looke like I got a stage 1 wheel that was clipped....
And is it possible to switch out a .63 housing w/ a .48 housing while using the same wheel?? How would that affect the flow of air generally speaking?
