Default Difference betwen MSD and RC

Ok dustin tried explaining this a little bit. He was sayin something about the MSD's are "pintle" or something, while the RC's are disc. Im looking for 550's and can get the MSD's or RC's within $25 of each other, so price isnt an issue, im just looking for what will be best for me. It has to be my every day driver so it has to idle good (dustin also said the MSD's will idle better) can anyone shed the light on injectors? Thanks

If you ahve the choice and there is no difference in price, fit etc. I would always go with pintle over disc, always. Pintle injectors are less likley to clog and are higher on the reliability scale. Pintles have better fuel control and because they can open/close faster than disc. I am pretty sure Corky Bell covers this.

Wondering if both of them are comprable in reliability and performance??? MSD injectors are alot cheaper for 720cc injectors....

i don't remember exaclty who but there are a bunch of people around here running MSD's and are quite happy with 'em. i think VaporTrail is, and viren (b18bturbo) says that they are just as good quality-wise a RC. check out the sale goin on right now...you can't beat 72lb (about 750cc) injectors for $320.00 + shipping!

first of all MSD injectors ball and seat type not pintle

Rc depends on the size of the injector can be a lucas type or a pintle design.

Correct, most of the RC injectors are Lucas style injectors. They are good injectors. Bosch is better, than Sieman injectors are top notch.

Lucas....that name brings back bad memories of my fathers old Triumph Spitfire. Anything electronic made by Lucas would not work and even after replaced, would not work for long. Same thing happened when my dad got an MGB. We gave up on British cars because of Lucas...

I personally think its all about Pintle style injectors. Reason being is that awhile back I was playing with injector testing and flowing injectors that I found at the junkyard and stuff. The pintle injectors spray out a really fine mist of fuel which HAS to be better for atomization. The RC disc type injectors sprayed out like a fire hose, Id say a stream about 6 feet long. This is not a bad thing, i had some 310cc RCs in my car for the longest time and they worked great. But, I would prefer the pintle style injectors if I had the choice.

Ok damn it, im still uneasy about these injectors.....which would be better for every day use and good idle....MSD or RC 550's? runnin w/ the Aem ems. Oh yeah, dont I need some obd1 clips and a resistor pack to run these with my obd2 car?

dont worry about it, I've got a car running MSD injectors right now with no problems. Save your money and get bigger injectors at the same time? Um, ok
