Difference between 40mm and 44mm wastegate?
I'm in the process of talking to a company about making a manifold, and we were discussing fitment issues between the firewall and the manifold on my next project. I'm using a T04S (.60/.70) on a 2.4 liter engine, non Honda. Shooting for 400-500 whp.
Which wastegate would be more appropriate and why? The engine itself will be revving to 7k rpms, running somewhere around 20 psi. I just want to run the best setup possible without going overkill. I am partial to the 44mm, I just don't know why.
Any help is appreciated.

Re: Difference between 40mm and 44mm wastegate? (2LiterTurboSeR)
For lower boost bigger is supposedly better. For higher boost smaller is supposedly better.
40's arent produced any more. They were discontinued like a year and 1/2 ago. But you can still get them.
44mm is all vbanded which is nice.
Either one you cant go wrong really

I do have a 40mm Tial for sale if interested, just throwing it out there But the Bigger 44mm Tial is preferable and it is VBand makes it simple and if you have to rotate it to clear things for your dumptube or what not it is nice. Also check out http://www.tialsport.com Technical section gives the dimensions of each of their wastegates too sir. Good luck.
