What's the difference running a 35mm or 40mm wastegate?
I'm assuming no difference ...
Just wondering as I'm starting to put together my custom setup.
First on the list is a turbo manifold ... should I get a 35mm or 40mm wastegate port?

Yeah, how much do you plan on running? 35mm is good for quite a bit of boost. I think if you plan on going upwards of 20psi the 40mm is a good idea.

That answers me question. Definately not going over 21 PSI. 35mm wastegate for me!

The 35mm Wastegate will only support 350 whp or so! You may be able to make 400, but the wastegate spring will begin to flutter with excessive boost! The 40mm and 46mm wastegates are usually good for 400-1000 whp!

How does the Tial 40mm compare to the HKS racing wastegates? I have a friend planning a high boost WRX buildup who's wondering..

Tial has a stainless steel housing, HKS uses cast iron. not that I've ever seen a bad HKS wastegate, just noting a difference.

I´m boosting 1.2 - 1.3 Bar (~20psi) without any problems on mine. Using an AVCR boost controller.

I have the Tial hybrid 35/40 mm gate. It has a 9lbs spring and can handle 26-28 psi.
