Default did some research but still a bit confused

Okay, I've finally decided to ditch the fmu and inline pump. I'll be running a p28 ecu with some dsm 450's for engine management. My question is though, I have an h22a1 and I'm wondering how the p28 ecu will work. As it stands, I've taken out the secondary butterflies so will this be a problem? I've read that the p28 won't work with the secondaries, but since I've taken them out, will this still work? Also, what else do I have to worry about?

you're still going to need a vafc or hondata to control the larger injectors.

a stock ecu and injectors are NOT engine management

Sorry, my bad, I forgot to mention that the p28 ecu will be chipped

with what? an all-motor mugen/skunk/insert your program name here?

you're STILL going to need something to control the larger injectors. the ecu is designed for 240s, and giving it almost double the injector means you will flood to holy hell at idel - if it even does idel - , and probably get 4 mpg on a good day.

do some reading on the vafc hack. you will see that dsm's are tuned down nearly negative 30% on the vafc.

still looking for answers about this. Did some more searching but still wondering. I've been told that I could use the p28 ecu with bigger injectors but I won't have control over my IAB's. But like I said, that won't be a problem cuz I've taken out the secondary butterflies. Anyway, I'm gonna chip that p28 and in theory it should work....shouldn't it?

Are there any other users using the uberdata with an h22?

I had h22 all motor with secondaries removed, and tuned w/ p72. Lil sum bitch hauled ***.
Granted it was with a p72, but the IAB's were still gone, it ran fine.

My GSR now is on p28 w/ Hondata, w/ no IAB's. It's turbo'd and tuned, and made more power w/o IAB's all across the board.

Hope this helps some.

that helps a bunch man, thanks!
Like I said, it's going on an h22a1 and I'll be using an automatic p28, so I'll have to alter that. I'm also gonna be using dsm 450 injectors for now and running prolly around 7-9 psi again. I'm not too familiar with that uberdata but my friends say (as well as most members on the board using it) it's pretty damn good for its price and for what you get.

You will not have control over the secondary butterflies because the ECU will not reconize it. Civic Ex's never came with that option on the Intake Manifold.

As for a boosting a h22 with 7-9psi, good luck. The friggin ring lands suck. I recently blew a ringland on my boosted h22(a4). I'm not trying to discourage you, just that the downtime I suffered really sucked. Get it tuned, it will last longer, but that in itself is still an enigma.

yah, that won't be a problem with the secondary butterfiles cuz I have taken them all out!
As for the rignlands! I know man, that's the shittiest part about the h22. I've read so many people cracking one, but I' was boosted for a couple of years before...but using an fmu!!!! Blah!, so I probably already Fucked Motor Up!! haha isn't that what the fmu stands for?

I think the ringlands in all OE pistons suck for Honda's.

Make sure you balance your h22 as well.
From my experience, the harmonics are horrible when boost is applied.
