did a compression test (crazy)
my car been smoking and i cant find what it is so today i went bought a compression tester to see what will happen (side note this is a built engine with 9:1 compression JE pistons and the head and the block been re-sureces twice)
So i do the test and the first time i drove the car up the street and back that's about 1 mile each way and did the test to see what i get
#1. 210
#2. 208
#3. 210
#4. 211
(that was on 7 strokes)
again
(5 strokes)
#1. 190
#2. 190
#3. 190
#4. 190
so i put oil in each spark plug hole and tried it again
(5 stokes)
my gauge only go to 300psi
it went will past it so every pistons came out about 350psi ill say
Now i put the plugs back in and let it run got about 15mins to try to get the oil to burn out i just put in but it never stooped smoking but i did another compression test like that and this is when is got crazy
#1. 120
#2. 115
#3. 120
#4. 105
take note that the engine only got 1,200 miles on it
its a h23 bored 30over with je pistons and je rings

sounds almost like the pistons are too small for the bore, hence the massive blow by when warm. or you have a cracked head that doesn't leak till it gets fully warm.
you can have good comp. and still have blowby because of the oil rings. Sounds more like a fuel problem and your washing out your cylender walls. Its not a cracked head because honda heads dont crack and it would actually be sealed until it got hot if it were.
i took the turbo off and ran open header and drove it for about 10miles and got back cleaned out the compression tester and now am get 225-212psi on every pistons
I think the compression had oil in it and messed up my reading
225psi is that high for 9:1 compression i hear that 190-180 is 9:1 compression

If you had your head and block both resurfaced TWICE you are certainly not at 9:1cr, that would explainyou higher than expected readings.

I'm trying to figure how you got the over 300 psi numbers. I am wondering just how much oil you injected? It almost sounds like there might have been so much oil in there that it effectively raised the dome height of the piston and thus raised the compression ratio too. Sort of like a partial hydro lock?
Did you use more than a squirt or two from a pump oiler?
