It's always been 84mm. We just had to rehone the block.

Let me first off define detonation...
Once again if you need me to clarify more I will be happy to talk with you on the phone
Also recently I have taken time out of my busy schedule
You didnt listen to what I said
If you need me to clarify on anything like I said give me a call
Let me try and clarify some stuff for you that you might have misunderstood
if you really want to get technical
Like I stated earlier
But if you really want me to elaborate on that you can call the shop and I would be more than happy to talk with you about it
damn the mouth on this one

Had a similiar issue with my pistons, not sure what the cause was, still being determined
The scratches are form manhandeling the piston once it was determined they were toast.
Arias pistons with Thermal Coat.
Piston #1

Piston # 3

That's crazy. Please keep us posted on what you find out.
***UPDATE***
On a good note, got my Precision GT35E back from Precision today. Big thanks to Arturbo for sending the turbo out to Precision and keeping me informed of what the status on it was.
Precision said that there was a small amount of contamination in the turbo, but didn't state what exactly it was. They did warranty it since it was under a year of purchase. The motor is too be back in the car next week, and more information will be posted.

Looks like bulldogs pistons. It appears his has more runs on it than yours did. Was this the same tuner?

bout 15-20 dyno pulls. 4 passes down the drag strip. Car did have a blow-by issue, the reason I pulled it apart. Found the piston damage by accident. Compression check and leakdown turned out good. Best we can figure is some exhaust gasses were getting past during/after the burn causing the blow by.
As for the piston damage, still looking into it.

The skirts are not scuffed. Marks on pistons are near what a set of OEM look like.
NGK 9 plugs.
Carne HI-6 with external coil. Hondata S200. 14 octane gas.

If there was blow by and oil got on top the pistons could it cause combustion with the fuel thus causing the damage to the pistons?

Yeah the skirts dont look bad but whats up with the valve reliefs, look kinda busted.
Can someone just post Brians and Erics fuel and timing tables to squash all this or let everyone know whats up

We're both of these cars tuned at the same place? What does the tuner have to say about the pistons I would be pissed and tell tuner to fix motor and pay money. That's bullshit.
Hmmmm, doesn't look like massive detonation per-se. Almost like a heat-buildup overtime...Not Catastrophic Failure. I would back off the tune-up alittle and maybe run alittle more boost to compensate.
yeah i agree. very mild detonation would cause heat build up and possibly also cause preignition. Maybe he needs to run a colder plug.
(what plugs were used? Could you post pics of what they looked like?)
maybe intake air temp was very high?
Without knowing many variables it's hard to find cause.
Also what was damaged on turbo?
Maybe the motor went first and pieces of the piston destroyed the turbo?

If you are talking about my car:
On the turbo there was a great deal of shaft play and some type of contamination, but Precision didn't tell us what it was. As far as the spark plugs go I use NGK R5671A-9. Air temps on my car when tuned were right between 125-130 if memory serves me correctly.
