Default deciding on using an external WG . . .

okay i was reading on external and internal wastegates to understand them more...

and the turbo setup i'll be running is an 18g, which is an internal wastegate set up. i'll be planning on running 9 psi.

what i was wondering is when i should use an external wastegate. . would an external wastegate be more efficient at 9psi as opposed to an internal? i mean i know internal wastegate is more succeptible to boost creep, but would external wategate be better?

i've been trying to research this a lot more, but those are pretty much the only advantages (that i came up with) of running an external wastegate; less chance of boost creep and bigger flap that redirects the exhaust gases.

also, for internal wastegates, is there a chance of the actuator failing? if so will the flap not open and not redirect the gases?

can someone direct me in the right way?
