Darton MID sleeves - Necessary to O-ring block??
I was told by someone that with the new Darton MID sleeve kit you must O-ring the block to maintain stable pressures within each cylinder - it wont hold past 15psi.... is this true?

does the block have the grooves cut in the sleeves for the o-rings?
maybe a cometic hp gasket would be a good choice, if you didnt want o rings? <--someone wanna comment on this ????

Yes they are, I think its for the gasket to line up with the holes

No.
Their design only changed the placement + depth of the sleeves, doesn't matter if you have them cut o-ring grooves in or not, its just an option.
Daron prokits will hold enough boost that stock size headstuds will lift off the block before you have to o-ring.

o-ringing is a good step , i had my y8 block o-ringed.... a cometic fire ring gasket will do the same thing im sure . but ive never herd of "having" to o-ring a block for any reason.
why did you get mid sleeves anyway , why are they different? did you crack a sleeve or somthing?

modular intergrated deck
i dont quite understand what you are saying. if a sleeve is cracked then it is pressed out and a new sleeve is pressed in. what kind of sleeve that is pressed back in is 100% by preference...

Re: (dunkd)
Its not as simple as just pressing out an old sleeve, and popping in new ones.
They cut the webbing and under the deck area to bind the whole block together with their interlocking sleeves.
Call Darton and request their solid deck install literature (its a big folder w/ pictures), it shows you and explains the install process. Bottom line tho, you dont need o-rings w/ their system.

Mine was Oringed and was fine, as well as the one above is my friends and is fine . I dont think you have the option to Oring Dartons, But they seal fine. I used a Cometic HP on mine and the one above is using a stock HG and both seal fine

No need for o-ringing. I actually dont even recommend it at all. What I do recommend is that you use the Cometic HP gasket, the one with the "fire ring".

Re: (93LSivic)
O-ringing or stepping the deck will give you the same effect...it just pushes into the head gasket a little harder to help seal. Just remember you can't use the Cometic HP gaskets with a step or o-ring. Use the MLS in that case.
