Darton 84mm Sleeves b18c4. Where to buy from??
Im from the uk, england, and in teh process of building my b18c4.
I want to buy some Darton 84mm Sleeves for my b18c4. Where is the cheapest/best place to buy from, that will ship to the uk.
also, what pistons are best to use???
i want to bore the sleeves out to 84.5 to re-finnish them and also maximinse the displacement
cp do an 84.5mm piston with 9.0:1 compression ratio. is this the right set to purchase??

I wouldn't go 84 if this is your first time boosting a motor. Go with the 81mm sleeves and punch them out to 83 that way if you have any problems you still have room to bore over. CP pistons will do an 84.5
HT user b18bturbo will give you a good deal let him know that I sent you.

Thanks guys, i'll pm them and get a quote.
If i was to stick with the 84mm and not bore it anymore, would i need 84mm pistons with 9.0:1compression ratio. or lets say,83.5mm?? or would this be too low compression

Re: (sir-uk)
Whatever your bore may be you need the corresponding pistons. For example 84mm bore you need 84mm pistons. 9.0:1 is a perfect CR and seems to be the most ideal.
The reason I told you to not start at 84mm is because the max bore you want to safely run on a boosted motor is 85. Lets say you floated a valve on your newly built 84mm engine and it destroyed your piston and scared your cylinder wall pretty good. Depending on how bad you've scared your cylinder will depend on how much it needs to be bored over and if its 85 thats the last time you can safely use that bottom end for a boosted engine. Lets say you start with 83mm bore and pistons it would leave you with several additional over bores if case of any mishaps.

From what looks like you are doing, I'd go with the 84mm kit. It start off under an 84mm so your machinist can do the final bore to match the 84+mm piston you want to use.
you can get the 81mm kit as well and bore that out to whatever you finally decide.
Keep in mind that choosing a certain bore size will need a certain head gasket bore too.

Don't do that because it leaves you no room for error. 83mm is just fine and it leave you with room to over bore in case of any mishaps. Unless you like waisting money this wouldn't be smart since the UK lacks the tuning capabilities that we have.

83mm is fine too. just prepare to find a custom 83mm gasket or a special order Cometic 83mm gasket as well. 83mm gasket isnt readily available everywhere.

Order it from the same person you get your sleeves from. It doesn't cost anymore it just needs to be specially made but thats not a problem what so ever.

Re: (sir-uk)
No the OEM stock crank is by far your best bet. I would get manley or pauter rods but thats me. Eagle rods will work as well as crower. Eagle's are the cheapest rods money wise.
