d16z6 stock. turboed.
Okay so I have a 93 civic hatch si. I was wanting to put a turbo in just for ***** and giggles. Nothing major. I just want to make it dependable. I was looking at some of the eBay kits that's were available. Is this good enough for the turbo kit or should I switch out the turbo and bov and wastegate? Or should I use the ones in the kit? And I also saw that many people recommend getting arp head studs. I will get that. Since I am putting in the arps, should I put a new head gasket too? Also I was thinking of getting Neptune but I don't know if I should get that or Hondata. I was looking into putting about 180-220 hp into the z6 that I have.
The parts that I think I will need is as follows-
-ARP head studs.
-450cc dsm fuel injectors
-Turbo kit (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Civic-Complete-Turbo-Kits-D-Series-EX-Si-1-6L-SOHC-VTEC-I-4-125HP-D16Z6-/230958468950?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item35c6328f56&vxp=mtr)
-Neptune or Hondata
-gauge for boost
Anything else that I should note?
Plus I'm only 17 so money is a constraint. I was thinking about 1500-2000 budget. Is that enough?

Re: d16z6 stock. turboed.
you can turbo a honda for 2000ish dollars. it involves doing all the work yourself, a fair amount of used parts, and not ebay.
these guys are right though, you have much research to do. take a deep breath, get some red bull, and get to it lol

Stay away from eBay garbage. Nothing in those kits is worth buying.
Research and read about other Z6 setups to get ideas. Once you know what all is required and you've seen other setups you like, then start buying parts and/or asking questions.
Your goals are realistic though, i'll give you props for that at least

OP
That ebay kit is garbage because most of the components you would not want to use.
The only thing I would get from ebay would be an intercooler piping kit, that's it. Even so, you would have to make sure it has the correct BOV flange.
You're going in the right direction with a cast iron manifold, on a budget I would do cast iron log vs cheap SS manifold any day
2,000 is doable to boost a Z6
First step is first, get the turbo and then build around that with the remaining budget
Always stress quality over price, meaning if you can get a legit used item for the same price or close to a brand new knockoff brand, always go for the legit brand/item
