Keep researching, expect to spend around $2,000+ in total.

300whp on stock D16 internals ? yah not happening and you couldn't even turbo a d16 for 1.2K try 2K+ for a properly done set up.

You aren't going to get a kit for that price. It is possible to do it yourself for that price, but that budget on a Z6 will max you out at 200 - it's not happening on stock internals.

Sounds like the common setup, you did a fair amount of research.

define: turbo kit (in your terms)
Your rough estimate doesn't include all the hardware, lines, wiring, etc;

so, financially wise, don't expect it to be cheap, especially considering all the labor.

check the forced induction section in the marketplace.

me and me fren who is a mechanic will be doing all the labor so that wont be a problem. i was looking at the 1200 price range because i live in anguilla its an island in the caribbean and we have to 45% on everything we import. i was thinking bout a ebay kit but i was seing some positive but mostly negative feedback.

So your $1200 is ONLY for the turbo hardware, and you're considering things like a chipped ECU, injectors, and all of the other supporting modifications to be separate from that? That's easy.

CX Racing direct fit basic kit (oil sandwich, feed/return lines, log manifold, turbo, downpipe), and a cheap direct fit intercooler with piping. Do not use the turbo in the kit - sell it to some schmuck, and buy a real turbo from Precision.

CX Racing kit, ~$450.
Direct fit intercooler with piping, ~$200
You can get a reman'd, discontinued turbo directly from Precision for <$500

That puts you right at $1150. Sell the turbo to someone for $150, and you're now at $1000. It's important that you get the log manifold kit, and not one of their ram-horns - they're well known for broken welds.

Sell the CX turbo brand new, make some money back to get a good turbo.

Do things right the first time, do you even plan on tuning....?

No. Like CO said, you should sell the CX garbage turbo brand new, and use the replacement turbo from the start.

Sounds like you didn't do much actual research before diving into this. If you're buying a shitty eBay turbo kit for $1200 and buying a Hondata s300, you're spending money in all the wrong places. Crome (freeware) and an extra $600 spent on a decent turbo kit would have been a much better use of your money. You need to read the Forced Induction FAQ before wasting any more time/effort/money

buy the turbonetics kit on ebay for 1100$ turbonetics turbos are very good for the money and they are better than the pos ebay ****, and id go with a neptune rtp/demon instead of s300.

Decent = name brand parts (aka NOTHING off of eBay)

Check the www.hondamarketplace.com and see what some of the HT Vendors offer...parts like Garrett, Tial, Injector Dynamics, SheepyBuilt, T1, etc constitute good parts.

If you're set on purchasing a "kit" the Peakboost kits are always worth a look. Either way, check out the marketplace and start comparing your options. Also, if you need help in the future, post in the Forced Induction forum rather than the Vehicle Specific forums

There are plenty of parts you can get from "knockoff" companies, but there are certain that you should get brand name. I've already explained this in my first post for you.

300hp on a stock block is doable all day long. Throw all new gaskets, head studs, and water pump and your good to go. As long as it is tuned properly you will have no problems at all, considering the the block you started with is in decent shape. There are plenty of guys running upwards of 400hp on a stock bottom end. My last turbo build I was running around 280hp on a gt28 with a stock ZC for almost two years before I sold it. Car was tuned on neptune by evans tuning in PA.

Check out your local classifieds for a good used turbo. As long as the parts are still good condition you don't have to get all brand new parts. It's all about budgeting and not wasting money. For example, if you did get the cx kit, you asked if you should use their turbo then replace it when it blows, thats all well and good but what if it blows your motor or something else cause it failed? May as well just get the right part the first time.
