your question is backwards, you should be asking

"how much hp is safe for my engine, and what PSI will i likely need on my garrett 57 trim to get there?"

In which case, that depends entirely on whether or not your block is sleeved or not. The pistons and rods should be able to withstand just about anything you can throw at them.

Well a t04e 57 trim only flows 45lb/min at its limit, so you won't make much over 400hp maximum

As much as your current turbo and fuel will make, stock sleeves are fine at your power levels your current turbo will support

We can't guess a psi number because that's not how it works, no 2 same setups will make those same power at the same psi, each is different and psi to power relation is different for each turbo. decide how much power you want and run whatever it takes to get there

You're "safe" right up to the point where that turbo runs out of breath. The engine build should be able to handle whatever that 57 trim can throw at it; however, that depends on your tuning, engine build quality, fuel, tuner's ability, and a little luck.

I would shoot for 375whp and consider anything beyond that to be a gift. Given you're using a 2.5" exhaust and no mention of upgraded cams, I think that's a fair number. Get it to a dyno and find out

I'm aiming for 1.4bar (20-22 psi)

In here we run on 98octane and i have a water&methanol kit installed

Here d16's breake a cylinder in 1.5 bar +

My aim is 350whp.

In ur opinion, can i get there at 20psi ?

Rc750 injectors

Thx..

I think 350 whp should be easily had with your setup and the fuel and I wouldn't worry much about the stock sleeves if you're engine tolerances are in spec and it's tuned properly.

Not sure if it will do it on 20 psi or not, but that shouldn't matter. Run the boost up until you hit 350whp.

For the record on a built D16Y8 with a 50 trim at 18psi I made 310whp. Stock head, 2.5" exhaust. You should have no problem hitting 350

Subbing. I always wonder what the limits of my D16Y8 are.

there isn't a limit per-say. the stock sleeves tend to have issues 450-500whp+ on a great tune. less if your tune sucks. but that being said sleeves have failed at 350whp and there are guys racing for years at 500+whp on stock sleeves. but 400-450 is a safe bet, that number can be pushed up a bit the with higher octane fuel.

psi is irrelevent, the number means nothing. first set the goal for the car. for example i personnally want a car with power capable of running 10's. therefore i need 450ish whp base on my reseach of similar setups running 10.99 or faster....i select a turbo capable of reaching said goal. i run as much psi is required to reach my whp goal. i could care less if its 12psi or 25psi as long as my goals are met. then i go to the track and seat time my way into my original 10.99 or faster goal.

Problem.. :\

between 4500-5000rpm, my wideband drops to *no fuel* (18).

and the car is faltering..

after 5000rpm, just like new.

we tried to modify the map, nothing.

Distributor maybe ?

On the S300 you can trigger secondary fuel tables by various inputs and one time I unknowingly set it to switch fuel tables when vtec activated. I had the same issue around 4500 RPM it would go super lean. I'd add fuel to the fuel maps etc. with no luck. Eventually figured out I was switching fuel maps. Perhaps you have something similar going on?

What fuel pump and injectors are you using?

Also check the fuel filter... a clogged filter can cause all sorts of issues.

Also wiring to the fuel pump might have issues.. the stock wiring is old and not meant to handle the higher currents most aftermarket pumps draw.... I always hardwire mine to insure they get maximum voltage and amperage at all times. All you do is ground the pump to the car, run the positive lead off the battery, put a relay in between positive side and hook the relay trigger to a switched 12 volt source...

Boom instant fuel pump upgrade.
