d16a6 turbo buildup ?'s
I am goin to start building up my d16a6, starting with an engine rebuild. I plan on runnin around 6 psi all of the time and then a dual boost controller to switch it to like 10 psi or 12psi when i want. I want my compression ratio to be at 9:1, somthing like that. I will run a BOV, intercool, and custom piping. I am goin to use the d16y8 mani and a crx hf exhaust manifold. I am looking at getting je pistons and eagle rods. What would be the best type of piston for this, flat top, dome, or other? Would i need any head work? What kind of head gasket do i use? piston rings? I still have not decided on a turbo either, was thinking of getting a mitsubishi starion/chrysler conquest or a mitsu eclipse turbo, any suggestions? I would like an intercooler from a starion as well. What size injectors would i need to be runnin? What car would i get them from? Any ?'s that you guys can answer that would be very appreciated. If you cannot answer all of them that is fine i just need to know all of the info i can before i hop into this completely. Will i need to get a new fuel pump to hold that amount of flow?
Thanks,
Matt

well in my opinion, you want to build a good bottom end for your turbo setup. that is good. but then you want to use the HF manifold, i would think, to save up to make that turbo setup a bit better so that you can take full potential of the bottom end you are building. also, if you do plan to run a small turbo, I'd go higher on the compression to something like 10:1 so that turbo will spool up faster. YEs you can boost more with the low comp bottom end, but its really useless to boost high with a small turbo because it has its limits anyways. Might as well go a bit higher on the Compression so you can have a faster response with the small turbo.
