ok this is my first post in the forced induction forum. I have a d16z6 I wanna build for boost (econically) the motor had spun a bearing so I need to have the crank turned. I was thinkin about reusing the stock rods and pistons with just new piston rings (Ihaven't checked ring gap yet I need to) but I am not too concerned about this motor so I think I will just use them I plan on running about 10 ps1 of boost to.
What would be a good turbo for my sohc vtec that is capable of 10 psi I see all these different names and whatnot out there and I really am just lost on what I should be lookin for? I want to get a good turbo because I will probably use it on other motor after this one decides to take a hike
I was planning on gettin the johnnyracecar 6 inch intercooler because they are cheap and I heard not too hard to fit on my 91 crx. CAn someone recomend a wastegate that I use? I am gonna just get teh cheapest manifold that I can find. I also am going to make all of my IC piping and downpipe.
Also I want a cool sounding blow off valve (I know it is a little ricey but I love the turbo sound) what is a good one?
my main concern is engine management I think I am going to get some DSM 450 injectors but what should I do with my ECU(p28)....shoudl I just get it chipped? I think this is kinda cheap and I would rather have something tunable but I really have no understanding of uberdata or socketeing or even what socketeing means. I know I don't want to go cheap and just get an FMU but if someone could point me in the right direction I would be happy

Since you are going for an ecomonic build here is a list for ya. BTW 10psi on a larger turbo with pop you d16 pretty quick.
- Stock turbo w/ internal WG (Mit, Suby, Audi, VW, Ford)
- BMC turbo manifold
- DSM BOV
- Oil Lines
- DSM 450
- JRC 6'' FMIC
- Uberdata (its like 215 for a programed p28 and the stuff to make your own chips in the future)
- Hit your local exhaust shop for charge pipes
- Hit your local exhaust shop for the down pipe
