D16 turbo
I need to know if a Garret t3 .60 turbo is good for a d16 turbo...(how fast does it spool, when does it hit full boost etc...) Any info will be appreciated, thanks.
I have a T3 "Super 60" (.48/.60), if that's what you're talking about. This is on a D16Z6 and I think it's a good turbo for the motor. It doesn't exactly spool the fastest but it's decent enough. I hit full boost at about 3200-3400rpm... this is on ~5.5psi.
Yeh, this isn't the "super 60" but what is the difference? btw this one is .60 on comp. side and 1.32 on the turbine side. what do these numbers mean? also if anyone could show me a play to shop for Garrett turbos that would be helpful...

1.32 a/r on the turbine??? thats pretty god damn big!
i had the t3 .60/.48 on my z6. it hit 6 pounds in 3rd around 3200 as previously mentioned. it definately pulled all the way to redline. i never really had any serious lag problems with it that i wouldnt reccommend it for a street turbo. and on top of this, for like 8 or so psi, the z6 fit the compressor map very well for this turbo

That helps...but here is the link to the info about the turbo http://www.houston-imports.com...27167 basically the whole ponit of this thread was to see if I should buy this turbo....
If you haven't bought it yet don't buy the 1.32 turbine a/r.... it's just too big for a 1.6...
Like said before, look around for a 60 trim or super 60 trim .48/.60, IMO they are one of the best turbos for a d-series engine. They aren't too big, so spool isn't much of an issue, but they have the capability to make quite a bit of power....
Look at beerbongskickass, he's making like 230 with this turbo (T3 60 trim, .48/.60) on a stock d16! And if you look at his dyno graphs, the torque holds till redline without falling off like some smaller turbos...
