D16 A/F
Hi Guys,
maybe you mite be able to help me, Just installed a T03/04, front Mount, FMU etc... Started up for the first time, fine :-) I have a Autometer A/F which flicks back and fourth, plus a seperate Wideband A/F sensor.
On idle the Wideband A/f reads between 14:7 and 15:2 ( is this right?) , the Autometer gauge also reads lean when the Wideband is 15:2 and Max Stoch at 14:7. I have changed the OEM Lamba sensor but no change.
At the moment I am only running on the boost on the Wastegate spring which is 0.3bar or 4.5psi the factory feul pump keeps up well and the car feels very strong, foot down in thrid gear A/F 14.3 lowest and the autometer gauge mid Stoch, if a try to rise the boost by even 1 or 2psi the car will start to go lean on the Autometer gauge and the W/B A/F hits 15:2, would this be the fuel pump?
Thanks for you helps guys

Is the fuel pressure rising when the car hits boost? Your idle a/f numbers sound right, but you're not running right under boost.
What fuel pump do you have and what disk is in the FMU?

Re: D16 A/F (Sonny)
The kit is a MaxRev, Stock fuel pump and the FMU i think is 12;1..... I have just ordered a Walbro 250lph in-tank hope i did the right thing Trying to get hold of a fuel pressure gauge at the moment...

Re: D16 A/F (Big Mic)
For an FMU setup you want to have an inline fuel pump. . Are you using a wideband for a/f ratio's or are you going from the autometer?

Re: D16 A/F (g2turbo)
I have both a Wideband A/F installed in the exhaust just after the factory lamba sensor, plus an Autometer A/f 52mm LED bar gauge which is reading off of the factory lamba sensor.
Will i have problems with the In-tank pump?
Thanks again

Re: D16 A/F (REVHARD_EF)
You will be fine if you upgrade the factory pump to the walboro unit, but you will still want an inline pump. THe in-tank pumps arent recommended for the fuel pressure associated with FMU's. At 7 psi of boost you are near 130 psi at the rail. The higher the fuel pressure the less efficient your intank becomes. THat is why its necessary for the inline pump. Someone correct me if im wrong.

Re: D16 A/F (g2turbo)
So,... I have installed the Walbro (great swap very easy) and run the car fine :-) did blow the fuel line going to the FMU , the FMU i found out was a 10;1 not 12;1.
Anyways today at the dyno (stock was 97.5 Whp) the car made 170Whp at 4.4psi good A/f around 11:6, turned the boost up to 5.8 car jumped to 197Whp, which i'm mega happy with A/f runs at 12:5 max.
Thanks for your help
