Re: d16 boost
ive been running 10psi on a gt28r with a stock z6 for 2 yrs and still going with no problems. btw its not by how much boost as diff turbos have different flow rates. d series can take up to 200-220 reliably

Re: d16 boost
like said above... its not psi its power
my friend ran a d16 stock block on 10 psi on a 57trim garrett for 3 years dd. Didnt even install the kit til 120,000k
get a good tune.... dont beat the **** out of it... but whenever you go boost on a stock block you have to understand the possible consequences

Re: d16 boost
so the max i can make on a stock d16y8 (mind you i have arp head studs and rod bolts) is 220 whp safe daily? Also i have a fresh rebuilt engine oem so how long will a 210 whp engine last daily drive? If i dont drive it like a raped ape.

Re: d16 boost
I turboed my z6 at about 230K miles. Its been in 3 different cars, 12 lbs and 8000 rpm everyday about a dozen times a day, and a very solid 30k miles of daily driven excitement. All within a year, several 10 hour trips, and one 2100 mile 5 day road trip. I run a 60/48 T3. Bone stock engine, OEM headgasket, ARP head studs. Street tuned on chrome by myself. I have no idea what power it makes, never strapped it to a dyno, but its enough to pull on unsuspecting cars.
