d15b2 ebay turbo kit or zex wet 55 shot?
I want and need some forced induction. All theses bmw`s and muscle cars keep messing with me and I don't run them cause I finally got my car mpfi and running good. D15b2 has 119000 miles on it never seen high rpm shifts as it was dpfi and owned by an old lady so its healthy imo. I have an extra a6 si head I can machine and add an sr909 cam and or mill for more compression if I go nitrous. I have some money to play with right now and I don't wanna go b16 anymore cause these sohcs are quick and want somewhat of a sleeper. So are the ebay turbos any good? Should I part 1 up with quality parts? I have like 1100 to spend so if I can part a good 1 up shoot me some web sites to where i can them or good ebay turbo kit that's been proven to work and last. Or just go for the zex kit? Its kinda something for now. I am gonna hit the junkyard and grab a d16a6 block or zc block for forged internals in the summer.

i would go with the turbo. nitrous would be hard on a stock single cam. people seem to have pretty good luck with the ebay turbo kits as long as you get an oil pressure reducer for the turbo. go ahead and read on this

Some good setups except for people having to kinda boost a lot to get good numbers and its almost a 50/50 chance of it coming out good or it taking a ****.

well the boosting a lot to make good numbers just get a bigger turbo and you have as stock d15b2 its not like your going to be building good numbers anyways. nitrous would probably fry that motor anyways. if you want you could just buy a ebay turbo piping kit and cast manifold and get like a mitsibishi eclipse turbo or something with internal waste gate and BOV

If you run a wet kit, you can tune it better. If you know what you are doing with nitrous you wont "Fry" anything. There really are no companies out there with aftermarket rods for the d15. So you will be limiting yourself with boost. You might be able to reach 200whp without catastrophic failure. d15 rods with ARP rods bolts are good to about 200whp N/A, boost, or Nitrous. Keep that in mind.

nitrous is cheaper and tuning is less expensive, with that motor you can't increase power by more than 50hp anyway so might as well just get a $300 nitrous kit used on here, do the stealth install on your car and call it a day

Yea found out my lil 1.5 has over heating issues =/ so now I'm heading to the junkyard Friday to get an a6 or zc block to rebuild for nitrous or turbo. My buddy just hit me up about a drag turbo kit that has a garret t3/t4 with tial wastegate and greddy bov with intercooler for ef/crx. I think he wants 500 and if he does I'm going to jump on that deal. If not then ill grab a nitrous kit. I'm going to get eagle rods and supertech pistons since there inexpensive forged and on sale right now. If I go boost of course ill get 9.1 compression but if i get nitrous I'm getting 10.5 pistons and a 100 shot if the stock sleeves can handle it if not 75 shot.

IIRC FJ Distributors has custom length rods for the d15's so that you could run Vitara pistons at the right deck height. Might be another avenue for you.
