Burnt from revving??? Never heard of that. You can burn one by have too much ignition retard
let us know when you do the leak down test

only 10 PSI gain from oil would lead me to think other than rings you will usually not always but usually get a bigger difference if its the rings.
about the revving, an over rev would lightly bend valves causing your issue, a light over rev anyway
but as stated before everyone is just guessing and worrying you until you do the leakdown until then this is pointless.
