can't really do it because one of the main and only parts (other than fuel management) of the SC is the blower, which has to be application specific to replace the IM.

that's not true, the blowers are all very similar to each other - you can buy a used M62 off a Mercedes CLK (around $300 on ebay when I picked one up for work) for example and have someone with a little skill build a sheetmetal intake manifold to match it, or you could plumb the outlet just like you would a turbocharger if you mount it in a different location.

I personally wouldn't want to put this much work into a supercharger knowing that a turbo has so much more potential, but it IS possible.

How about them Lysolm superchargers? I hear its impossible to put em into a honda because of lack of space, but I'm sure someone has done it before.

i am not sure if anyone has done it before - they arent cheap and so most people with fabbing skills arent going to pick one up and try to make it happen.

i have run JRSC (sold it) and turbo (now), and i wouldnt touch a roots blower on a small displacement motor ever again. the minicooper S (1.7l) has an intercooler on their m45 so its a little better.

but, honestly it will cost as much as turbo and have LESS power at the same boost level i guarantee that.

Keep in mind that the Eaton/Jackson unit "spins the wrong way".

I am going to go talk it over with a local guy that specializes in custom superchargers for mazdas and nissans, I really, really doubt it will go anywhere but I'll just go and shoot the **** with him. The guy is supposed to be very good with boosted cars, he developed his own ECUs for turboed Nissan's and all... Worth a shot, if anything comes out of it I'll let you guys know
