Fuel Rail Recommendations
I've searched and I've seen all of the posts, but really I couldn't find one with everyone just putting in their 2 cents as to what the best fuel rail is...So tell me what you think. Personally I'd like one that has some outlet ports for accessories at least a spot for a gauge. This is for my project car which hopefully will be seeing close to 500whp...
Hayame - Seems like it's a good price and I've seen a few people recommend it but I haven't researched it much...
Venom - Looks like good construction, doesn't seem to have any accesory ports though...
AEM - Again, seems like a decent product, not sure if it has any ports for accesories
STR - Haven't heard much about it but it looks like a nice piece, comes with the parts you need and has accesory port
Other ?

Check out the Edelbrock fuel rail.
Hard anodized and looks very nicely machined! pressure regulator goes on the end of the fuel rail and has two extra ports on the top.
Saw them on display at SEMA.....come with -8 AN o-ring inlet fitting to the stock inlet hose, or you can use any AN hoses with a -8 AN o-ring fitting into both ends of the rail!
high quality piece
btw....I think the Venom rail stinks. very heavy and very cheap construction, and those mounts look real weak to be used for any high horsepower applications.
The AEM rails are nice, but they are just color anodized, the hard anodized ones wont corrode when you use racing fuels.
DC Sports rail is a nice looking piece, but the fuel passage is way too small, more like a dressup piece for show only. No extra ports.
I haven't seen an STR in person, but the new ones look like a cross between a Venom and a DC Sports rail.
All of them will offer extra ports, except for the DC Sports. All of them except a stock pressure regulator, and mount on the top of the rail, except for the Edelbrock one, which has the regulator mount on the opposite end of rail from the inlet.

run the gauge off of the FPR
no need for accesory ports

Maruader thanks for the Edelbrock recommendation I'm going to check it out

The problem your going to have, is that unless you pick up a new products brochure at SEMA, you wont find any info on the Edelbrock fuel rails on the web for a little while since they are a new product. Might take them a couple months to get their act together and actually make production parts.
I'll take some pics with my digital and see if I can post some when the show is over!
What are you wanting to put a fuel rail on?

I'd prefer to have it on the rail itself, the proper way.

i have the str rail. It is very nice and Ive had no problems to speak of. it is very large, my strut tower bar no longer fits because it sticks up so high, but oh well.
Maruader - Thanks for the pics..I can't see em unless I join imagestation though so I guess I'll do that later
I don't think Aeromotive makes one ? I didn't see it on their website. It would be sweet if they did since I'm going to be using one of their pumps and their regulator, they make some sick stuff.
What about the Aeromotive fuel rail?

When i had my integra i just welded -6 fittings on the stock rail and ran stainless lines. I mean really, how many street cars max out the stock fuel rail?

hehe where does the stock rail max out at?

With an adjustable regulator, its not hard to crank up the power capability of the stock rail by raising the fuel pressure. Personally, I just don't like raising the pressure too high since injectors don't like to operate at too high of a voltage. When I used to develop fuel injectors, some of them would start to operate poorly above 80 psi or so, and things got a lot worse if battery voltage started to drop.
I wouldn't turn up the fuel pressure past 60 psi, but that just my personal feeling.
Aftermarket fuel rails really aren't needed for street cars, more for race cars. They do add a nice stylish look to the engine bay. You can connect AN lines to a aftermarket rail, as well use the extra ports for gauges or nitrous.

I have a question while we're on this subject...on my d16a6 fuel rail there seems to be a port on the end of the pass side of the fuel rail...can this be used for a guage or anything?
Yeah man but you know...that's why I call you Tony the Tig instead of Tony the Tap!
Tig.....don't leave home without it.....
