Default Custom intercooler piping and Downpipe question.

My setup is going to be a precision SC34 .63a/r on a LS running about 11psi. I was going to do custom piping from JC Whitney and didn't know what size to run (2 1/4 or 2 1/2) from the turbo to intercooler and intercooler to throttle body. The inside diameter of the pipe is about 1/8 inch smaller, does this matter?
Would I be able to make a 3 inch downpipe fit and keep a/c , using an inlinepro manifold. Would the 3 inch be needed if i was going to make a transition from 2 1/2 to 3 under the oil pan?

Sorry for the long post. and i did a search for those flamers out there.

Thanks!

I did some more searches and found what size intercooler piping to use, but i'm still curious to know if I will be able to make a 3" downpipe and keep a/c with an Inlinepro mani.

you would probably be better off with a 2.5" downpipe and transition it up. to make the 3" fit you will need to cheat the bends pretty bad which is worse for flow than having the 2.5" pipe.

On piping im going with 2.25 into intercooler and 2.5 out, 2.25 all the also ok too.
On the manifold im having tony1 make me a downpipe 2.5- 3" and still retain a/c with the inline pro manifold.

bump for the exact setup im gonna run

if you have the ability to go 3" fine, if not, then go 2.5" try to stay as big as you can. also you will need to change the cat and the rest of your exhaust system to match the size of the down pipe. what's the point in having a 3" down pipe of you have a stock cat and a 2.25" cat back? it's a total bottle neck and will ruin any flow gained by the larger down pipe.
