Where can I go to get custom endtanks put on my intercooler.. I have an Audi intercooler and I want to put it on my crx.. I got a price quote from a place near me and they wanted like $500 to do it.. Does anyone know of a cheap place to get it done..

 

i was planning on doing this also but it isn't worth the hassle. i got a better quote than you though... one speedshop quoted me 200 dollars. I said screw it and bought a precision intercooler from Arturbo

I think you both were a vicim of " I don't wanna do it, unless its for a huge amount of money" scam.

They prob. just didn't wanna to it...

I used to do that when I worked at best buy. If someone came in with an old ford that has a "common-ground" stereo that needs completly rewired I say some insane quote just so I wouldn't have to do it. If they said "ok" even though I tried to ge them to go away, I'd get like 4 hours to do ( which is insane ).

My friend got custom-end tanks put on his WRX IC for $40 and they semi-polished it..

 

My thoughts exactly.. He quoted me something like $150 in parts and like 4 hours labor at $70.00.. I knew that was insane.. He also said "we can build you a custom intercooler for about $800.00 that will flow better then the Audi one since stock intercoolers suck".. What type of shop did the endtanks for your friend, Was is a speed shop or im hearing radiator shops can do it too.. Let me know.. Thanks

 

you should check out ebay, they have pretty cheap spearco intercoolers and all different sizes prices usually start for around $350 unless you can get those end tanks welded cheap Good luck

 

I've been checking out ebay and I see alot of nice ones but im not sure how big of one I can fit on my crx.. Ill have to measure it and keep a lookout..

 

The one i purchased from Art is 18x6 3/8x3.5 without endtanks and 26 inches long with endtanks..
i saw the ones on ebay and they were around 320-340 for spearco units plus like 30 bucks shipping.
For that price, you can get a precision and save money.. I paid 350 shipped for mine. It is up to you on what you want to do since it is your car, but read this thread and then make up your mind
