Default Precision Intercooler VS. Spearco Core

Alot of people have been asking me about the intercoolers from Precision. Here is one good for about 350whp. Here you will find the quality of the Precision intercooler and how great they are. I am in the process of getting them made for the "honda" sizes because they have alot of strange sized cores that wont fit our cars.

Below is the Precision intercooler used on the Ford Focuz kit from Precision and a Spearco Core from a Rev-hard turbo kit:

Look how thick the bars are on the Precision. Very nice!

Notice the Precision has alot more turbultors for increased effciency!

Now the turulators, or lack their of, Spearco core:

As you can see Precison has another quality product to make your car go fast!

Have a great day and dealers like myself or Motormatrix are here to help you out.

The one pictured is a 18x6x3.5" core is priced at $360 + shipping. Screw it, free shipping.

I want to have sizes like 24x8x3, or 24x11x3. If I go this route it will not have the Precision end tanks, but customs ones made for me. Rigth now, this is all up in the air and I am trying to work things out.

correct me if I am wrong (please!), but I thought more turbulators meant that the i/c was more efficient for low hp applications. As boost pressures increase, those turbulators become a restriction. This was my understanding, as I said, please correct if I'm mistaken

Yes and no Vapor Trail.

Let me see if I can explain it like tony1 told me.
Take for example a greddy tube and fin intercooler, it will flow alot and work great at low boost applications, but at higher boost applications it will not cool like a bar and plate will.

Now, a bar and plate like the Precision may have a larger pressure drop but will have a cooler intake charge.

Now ask yourself, would you rather have a lot of hot air, or less but cooler. I think and hope you will pick the cooler charge. If we wanted less turbulators then we all would have Max-rev intercoolers.

I have one of these Precision FMIC and it is definitely a nice piece, welds, bars, ect... PT&E. Art these would sell like hotcakes if thier were more sizes available for ther bigger hp guys.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought that Precision used the Spearco cores and put there own end tanks on them. I have the Precision front mount for my GN and they said it was a Spearco core. Precision doesn't make their intercoolers from scratch, they put them together like everybody else and stamp their name on it.

Art have they ever thought about going to sheetmetal endtanks. Something about the bling of the sheetmetal over the cast looking effect. I guess performance over looks though.

Well, you can get both. Kinda. What I mean is I can order a core and get the sheetmetal made for the end tanks.

24x8x3 would be ideal for 400 HP+ people on the board. Also, the cast endtanks diffentiate Precision's FMIC's from other out there. Might be a key selling point that PT might want to look into.

Yeah more sizes would be great for the bigger hp guys, as we have many 400+ guys on the board

The PT&E logo is a nice touch also

Are you saying the Max Rev intercooler is no good? I can understand it no being ideal for high boost, but what about mid boost say 8-16lbs?
sorry if I am jacking this thread....intercoolers are new to me...not what they do, but the different R&D on them.

I'm still learning this stuff, but I think a cooler charge is better. I like being cool

I didnt realize that PTE was a bar and plate setup, awesome they need more sizes though
