700 into a stock sleeve that has a good chance of cracking regardless what you do no thanks. Spending that much you sleeve it or just rock a block guard. Plenty people out here running block guards pushing 700hp no failures.

The simple fact of being able to have the chance to beable to bore from 81mm to 85 with a turbo, means plenty of rebuilds per block, then after 85mm you can sell it to a allmotor guy and go to 86mm that alone is worth the price of sleeves nevermind the fact you can make 1500hp too

Good points lol. And at least ill have enough meat on a sleeved block to safely bore out if needed. Nothing wrong with css if you're on a budget though. I got a good deal on my GE block and I could afford it, so it was a no brainer.

No offense taken^^ Not much of an update but my turbo blanket came in and I got my up pipe ceramic coated, or so I think. The more I look at it and compare it to other pictures of ceramic coated parts, the more I think the guy just used that VHT Ceramic in a can. Idk how effective that is, but he specifically said he was going to order the ceramic powder. Any gurus in here that can tell just by looking at a pic if its vht or actual powder sprayed on through a gun and put in the oven?

I hit mine with VHT flame proof looks good but I don't think it's a heat barrier more just a coating.

Got the engine assembled yesterday. Only snapped pics of the block before I ran out of memory.

84mm GE sleeves.
Manley Turbo Tuffs
JE 11:1 slugs with heavy duty pins
ACL standard size race bearings
ARP mains.

Even the good stuff scratches by physical contact on items like exhaust pipes. High temp coating is not applied as a "thick" treatment at all, and on items like those pipes can come off easily if not careful. I don't know how much effort you put into "scratching" it off, but if it was with some effort, it can go either way.

Best thing to do is try it out.

Received my reinforced trans case from Turbo Elements last night and my SpeedFactory modified shifter came in the mail today. Tried installing my vibrant belt tensioner but for some reason the bolts are tightening up just after a thread or two. Worked a thread chaser in there and same thing. Nothing is stripped either. All I can think of is wrong thread pitch. Anyone else have this issue?

I've been debating the modified shifter assembly, as well as some sort of braced/billet trans housing, I'm not making ridiculous power or drag racing but the abuse the car will see road racing warrants these parts IMO, in addition to my GE scatter shield. One can never be too durability/safety minded

Well said. Make sure to send more than one shifter assembly if you do. I sent two just incase one was bad and its a good thing I did because one ended up being faulty.
