crome tuners, how can i fix flywheel drop??
it doesn't do it all the time, and i mean it doesn't bother me that bad cuz the car isn't daily driven everyday, just weekends to track and nights and what not.
But anyway, i have the exedy twin disc and for the most part i can't just push the clutch in and keep the car idleing, it will stall. When im on the beltway its not a problem i can tap the gas and hold it and lower the rpms a little to help it catch at idle, but any type of traffic or sudden stopping it will just stall.
Tuner tryed raising where it catches and no luck, it did get better but hasn't stopped.
I just wanted to see if this is a common problem from twin discs, or if there is sumthin else in crome to adjust to compensate for the extremely light flywheel.
thanks

Uh... just adjust your throttle some. Adjust the physical throttle stop under the throttle rotor.
I never had a single issue with an 8lbs flywheel and Crome.

Re: (tony413)
yes sleeved block balanced and blueprinted, runs perfect just the damn idle thing.
The car idles perfect, like i said it's only when like i do a pass or maybe the car is hot and i need to stop suddenly in traffic it will stall, if i catch it with the gas a little and lower the rpms it will catch and idle fine.
I would adjust the throttle stop but thats not gonna fix it, it will but then i am just gonna have a higher idle, i have never had a car idle as good as this one and it has 1000cc injectors in it so i don't wanna mess with the idle like that, unless it works out and i only have to bump it up like 50-100 rpms, then that will work
thanks for the replies guys

tell ur tuner to go to pgmfi.org and download "xenocrons" version of crome. it has a working IACV script that works. tell him to set ur idle at 1000 rpms across the board in the program. i use to have the same problem as u

Re: (boosted k20)
does that require a retune??or can you upload your tune onto that version???
to be honest with you that might be what we have, unless it is the old one cuz i remember him saying we set it up to catch at like 1500 when the car is moving then it will drop when the car is stopped, but i had it set it at like 2000 rpms and still same results, works PERFECT when the car is cold warm, once you boost it and g3et nice and hot just does it randomly.
it's really annoying when its on the street, track aint bad but damn.

I have my idle set at 1000 rpm with a ACT streetlite flywheel (12lb i think) and if I don't catch the idle from a high rev and quick stop it will drop to about 500-600 rpms before picking back up. If you rev it sitting still it catchs just fine at 1000rpm.

Re: (SIXTY-1HATCH)
sounds like you needs to adjust your battery offset voltage. What injecotr size are you running. I've noticed past 40cc injectors some cars have problems with idling if not adjusted, especially at operating temps and higher

Re: (adseguy)
PRECISION 1000cc injectors,
i know he was messing with voltage a little bit cuz he had me turn on my heat, and headlights etc. do compensate for air fuels with more voltage is used, like i said the car idles perfect just when driving with load on the car and when it's hot seems to be the most when it happens, when the car is cold it catches fine, and even when the car is hot it still trys to catch but at like 500 rpms
btw it is an exedy twin disc with their lighten flywheel(don't know the weight)
thanx for the replies guys any suggestions help
but i will ask if he did adjust that, is there a battery offset just for the catch idle??

i 4got to mention that. u will need to tune out the battery offset alot on 1000cc. i had to do that on my car w/ 1000cc. put the Rear window defrost on, headlights and heat/AC on and tune out the injector batt. offset.

Re: (boosted k20)
yea see we did all that stuff while the car was at running temp and idleing
but this happens when there is load on the car, im confused, i mean i know of people having issues with them and they have to keep them reving, but i figured there has to be some explanation for it
i dunno

dl xenecrons crome version http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewtopic.php?t=13441 and open ur map in this version of crome. increase the % in the IACV in the options menu and it should take care of that problem. i would set all the rpms at idle (in advanced idle tables & options tables)

Re: (boosted k20)

thanks for the input i hope it works

Re: crome tuners, how can i fix flywheel drop?? (SIXTY-1HATCH)
I had the same thing after I installed a 7lbs flywheel. There's a Crome plug-in that allows you to adjust the running idle (when the car is still rolling), I set running idle to 1200 rpm and "regular" idle to 950, that fixed it perfectly!

I just finished up a tune on a car today that was having the same issues and the new iacv control actually did help to stabalize it and keep it from stalling

absolute nonsence.. this has nothing to do with flywheel. at the worst, you may have start up problems as teeth may not line up but thats about it. i've been running 8lbs flywheel for 50k miles and many years and problem like this is related so something else like fuel/ignition..

Re: (vtec.dc2)
I'd say adjusting your <U>ect</U> idle control in crome would fix your problem. bring up the rpms in the hot coolant temp side. For me 900 worked well. I adjusted both idle and (moving idle). also check the advance idle tab under enhancements(I think) to match what you set for ect.
