Default Stalling out at stoplights with 7 lb flywheel?

I just bought a 7 lb flywheel from clutchmaseters a week ago. Well, one of my friends told me to return it. He said that when i stop at a stop light, sometimes the RPM will drop low and the engine will stall out. Is this true?

It shouldn't, I hear with a lot of current draw from a stereo will sometimes drop an d stall but besides that?

thats what i figured. Theres no way jsut by having a flywheel your revs will just cut out. something else might be wrong rather thant that.

yep,can be true and b18bturbo and jimmie d are wrong cause weight of the flywheel helps the engine stabilize its idle when u lift off of gas,its a fairly easy fix tho, just raise the idle like a hundred RPM.

http://www.strng1dah.homestead.com/partsreview.html

Check out strng1dah's site.Look at the bottom, he says that

"The only negative comment I have about this flywheel is that it is so light sometimes when coming to a stop the rpms will drop too low and the car will stall. Not that big of a deal but a slight inconvienence."

Damn, if thats the case I might end up returning it. I dont wanna stall out in a turbo car at every stop light, haha.

Tis' pretty. I think I'll keep it and if it does stall out, I'll change it out to 11 lbs or something.

I installed a clutchmasters 7.5 lb flywheel with a clutchnet clutch on my brothers integra, and seeing as how I ride in his car fairly frequently, I think this is something that I know. Its called firsthand experience champ. And I know multiple other people that run 7.5 lb flywheels with no problems.

lol,im wrong,i almost forgot that your such an engineering theorist cause you helped your bother install 1 flywheel, well, your the one who's dead wrong, the heavier the flywheel, the smoother the idle, the lighter the wheel, the choppier the idle and this increase the chance of stalling, here ya go,do some homework on this proof, read up>

no your getting me all wrong. I know how a flywheel works and the effects it has on a motor, I am not trying to argue that with you.

--> what i was saying is that the motor, with a 7lb flywheel, works perfectly fine without any adjustment of the idle, and it will not stall. This is from my first hand experience with them, and the people that i know. <---

done.

Mine has never died after installing this same clutch back in June last year.

The only problems I've heard about flywheels that are too light is that they can kinda be a pain in the behind on those colder mornings when trying to get your car to crank over.

the only problem i can think of is...

if you're making a lot of power, the aluminum can warp because of the heat. Cromoly is the best way to go.
