Default crankcase pressure

Now I have a catch can hooked up to the pcv port(no valve though) to the catch can, and then on to the pre turbo intake with a 90 degree fitting facing the turbo. I have the valve cover hooked up to the same pipe. This is the exact setup I researched from this site. Anyways I have 180psi across all cylinders and I'm blowing out the o-ring in the separator box also the oil pan gasket failed. Please help, How can I evacuate this pressure?

hmm well i did mine similar except i ran the pcv valve how it is stock.. BUT i ran the nipple off the valve cover to a BREATHER TANK then from there to the intake side of the turbo with a 90 degree fitting like you were explaining.. this way under boost it will help pull out gases from the valve cover.

& BTW the tank is to catch any oil should it even leak from the nipple which it never has.

If you have a stock B18C5 motor (I'm assuming based on your handle) and your compression is 180psi across all cylinders then you might have problems with your piston rings which is causing the excessive cylinder pressures. I am having the same problem in my GSR with crankcase pressure but I know my rings are probably shot since it has gotten progressively worse. I used to have 210 psi across all cylinders and it has gotten to the point where its now around 195-175-195-175. I believe the Type R should be somewhere around 240 psi.

I have the same symptoms as you with the oil pan gasket failing and leaking on the front side of the pan. Another problem I have is smoking under boost and my oil dip stick shoots up oil under heavy load (WOT) at high RPM's. I think it would be best if you do a leakdown test to see where your real problem lies. The catch can might be just a band aid fix at this point. Good luck.

yea 180 sounds kinda low, plus it sounds like you have blowby. maybe more problems than your pcv, do a leakdown to be sure.

I have 9:1 pistons and as soon as the rings were seated, these were the #'s I got. I thought they seemed low but I read that it was a result of the pistons. I'm not getting anything in the catch can and the pcv is not a check valve it's a fitting in it's place.

Also I should add that this is a built motor with 2000km on it the head was rebuilt to stock specs and it's hondata tuned.

dude your PSI in each cylindar sounds fine.. mostly because of your compression ratio.

My mistake. We didn't realize he had low compression pistons. You may still want to do a leakdown just to make sure.

leak down looked excellent. Brand new oil pan gasket is leaking though. Looks like a vacuum pump or routing the crankcase through the exhaust for vacuum is the only answer

i blocked off the factory unit on the block and used an endyn breather kit. i also just leave the valve cover vent open. but then again i dont have emissions
