Default crank fixable?

this can be fixed right?

i saw earl had some deal on polishing. does this have to be polished or something else?

Polished? At the very least I would say it needs to be undersized, and probably a good idea to magnaflux it to check for cracks.

o well i got the whole thing cheap so no loss to me..

finding another b17a crank is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Is that the longblock that was for sale on RevScene? I'd say scrap the bottom end and throw the head on an LS B18 block. You'll get a boat load more torque and it'll cost about the same as replacing the B17 crank. B17 cranks are pretty popular for building motors with sweet rod/stroke ratios, and since they're somewhat rare, they don't come cheap.

man my brother had the same thing happen he got it fixed and oversized bearings works good.
